The journey to Krakow WYD begins

It is 2015 and now we can say that the next international WYD celebration is next year!  In July 2016 the youth of the world will meet with Pope Francis in Krakow and young people around the Territory are warmly invited.

The Diocese of Darwin is planning for a group from the Territory to journey to Krakow for WYD.  Already, a number of people have put their names down.  To add yours to the list, email your details to Benita – youth@darwin.catholic.org.au.  Full details of the itinerary will be released soon.

The WYD Office in Krakow, Poland is working hard on all their preparations.  Here is a little of it.

Firstly, your welcome to Krakow from the city who wishes to meet the youth of the world. “Today we are waiting for you…”

A description of the WYD logo for Krakow…

And here (can you understand polish?) you can listen to the Official Song for WYD.  Titled “Błogosławieni miłosierni”.  The hymn is titled “Blessed the merciful” – inspired by the theme of the WYD Krakow 2016 announced by the Holy Father, which is “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” (Mt, 5,7)

If you are a young adult living in the Northern Territory and you are interested in joining the pilgrimage, please email your details to Benita youth@darwin.catholic.org.au

And so we begin.  See you in Krakow 🙂
